A Day in the Life of Ethan & Seth

Ah, life is so rough! Here are the boys enjoying the sunset (well, I was enjoying the sunset and they were having more fun watching the neighbor mow the lawn) on our front porch.
I am thrilled that the boys love books so much. Here they are studying animals. Yes, they actually do share this well MOST of the time.

They love building with blocks. OK, they really just like knocking them down after I have spent so much time and energy carefully building a beautiful tower. I've learned to get over it and not hold a grudge though!

Since Mimi used to be a dental assistant, I try to live up to her high standards of good dental hygiene. She's always good about having the boys brush after every meal, but I'm lucky if I have them do it once a day.

The boys love brooms (and vacuums too). I can only hope this love of cleaning supplies lasts until they are 18.

Ego waffles are hands down their favorite breakfast food. Well, I'm sure they like Mimi's pancakes and Mambo's smoothies much better, but I'm not much of a chef. If they're content eating something I can put in a toaster, then that's fine with me.

Granny got the boys this train for their birthdays this year. They love their train! It even has a caboose (or "boose" as the boys call it).

Life's a Beach

Just last weekend we took the boys to the beach. Believe it or not, it was the first time they actually went swimming in the ocean and got to play in the sand. They have both been to the beach a couple times before, but it's always been during the fall or winter months. They had a blast. We are so lucky to live close to the beach and nobody loves the ocean more than me, but I have decided that I hate sand! Those boys had sand everywhere!

I'm a Big Boy Now

Ethan just started sleeping in his "big bed" when we got back home from Missouri. He thinks he's quite the stud now!
Ethan has been using his potty chair since Mimi and Mambo got it for him for his birthday. Anytime his diaper is off, he will go on the potty, which is awesome, but we're still trying to get him to tell us when he has to use it when his diaper is on. Any suggestions?

This is just a cute picture I took of Seth while Ethan was on his potty chair. Seth didn't want to be left out of the picture taking. He was ready to smile!

A Swingin' Good Time

The boys absolutely love their swing set. Tim built the entire thing by himself. Good job, dada!

Graham & Tyler

In June my cousin, Tyler, and her son, Graham, came to Mimi and Mambo's house for a few days. The boys loved playing with Graham. He's great entertainment for them. There is a picture of Tyler and me taking a bath when we were about Seth's age that is displayed in many of our relatives' homes, so we decided to pass on the shame and humiliation to our own kids. Just kidding, boys. We love you!

Jammin with Uncle Zach

Ethan loved hanging out with his Uncle Zach because there was so much cool stuff to mess with in his room! Here he gets to play the guitar and talk on the cell phone at the same time. What's better than that? The only thing missing in this picture is a bag of Doritos. Zach never had a full bag of Doritos to himself when Ethan was around.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

We went out for several cruises around the Lake of the Ozarks in Mimi and Mambo's boat. Tim and I always love being out on the water. The boys liked it too, but didn't like being confined in their life jackets!

Nana's 85th Birthday Bash

My Nana, Cleasa, turned 85 in May! My mom helped throw a surprise birthday party for her. It was more like a 2-day family reunion than a simple surprise party. It was great to see relatives that we hadn't seen forever. Don't get me wrong, it was great to see the ones we get to see regularly too. My Nana is by far one of the greatest human beings I will ever know, so it was an honor for me to able to be there to help her celebrate her special day. I love you, Nana!

Mimi's Make-Up

Every morning Seth would sit with my mom and put make-up on with her. He seems to be partial to blush and mascara. He loves to look at himself in the mirror.

Oh, Brother

The boys are already the best of friends. They play great together and are always looking out for each other. If Seth wakes up first in the morning, he asks for Ethan (Nee-Nee) and if Ethan wakes up first he asks for baby Seth (Baby Ba).
